Dunki is a 2023 Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, alongside Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. The story revolves around Hardayal “Hardy” Singh Dhillon, a former soldier who develops a close bond with a group of friends living in a small town in Punjab. Each of them dreams of moving to the United Kingdom in the hope of finding better career opportunities and improving their lives. However, due to financial difficulties and visa restrictions, their dream seems impossible to achieve through legal means. As a result, they decide to undertake the dangerous and illegal immigration route known as the “Donkey Flight” or “Dunki” route, which involves crossing several countries under life-threatening conditions.
